As the 2022 thoroughbred racing season comes to an end, various titles, awards and bragging rights will be determined this weekend at the Breeders’ Cup World Championships in Lexington, Kentucky.

On Friday, November 4, we (West Point Thoroughbreds, Woodford Racing) will be represented by Battle of Normandy in the $1,000,000 Breeder’s Cup Juvenile Turf. The Juvenile Turf is 1 mile on the turf for 2 year old colts. Battle of Normandy broke his maiden at Saratoga Race Course in August and followed the win up with a second place finish in the Grade 3, With Anticipation Stakes at Saratoga in August as well. His last race was a disappointing seventh in the Grade 2 Pilgrim Stakes at Aqueduct in October over a very soggy turf course. Battle of Normandy’s trainer (Shug McGaughey) doesn’t think the soft turf was to his liking. The turf course at Keeneland will be firm as the Commonwealth of Kentucky has received very little rain this Fall. Post time for the Juvenile Turf will be 5:40 PM and Battle of Normandy is #5 in the fourteen horse field. The race can be seen on USA Network.

Thousands of people were on hand at Keeneland at 5:45 AM on Saturday, October 29 to watch Flightline’s final workout before the Classic. He will jog daily leading up to the Classic on Saturday. Post time for the Classic on Saturday will be 5:40 PM and the race will be televised on NBC.
