With the arrival of the new year, I’m very excited about our racing interests. 2020 brings some new horses, some new trainers, some new partners, our first horse on the Kentucky Derby Trail and our first horse to compete outside the United States!
Here’s the current stable:
2 Year Old’s
We currently have eight 2 year old colts being broken in Florida. The plan is for all the colts to be sent to their trainers in the May/June timeframe. Some of the horses have been named and some will be named in the next few months. In addition, trainers have been identified for all of the colts except one and his trainer will be named shortly.
Secret Potion
Owners (Peter Brant, Robert LaPenta, Woodford Racing)
Secret Potion is a Into Mischief colt who will be trained by Chad Brown. He is currently at Eddie Woods Training Center in Ocala, Florida. Into Mischief led all sires in earnings in 2019 and Chad Brown led all trainers in earnings in 2019 as well. Not bad!
Flightline
Owners (West Point Thoroughbreds, Woodford Racing)
Flightline is a Tapit colt who will be sent to the West Coast to be trained by John Sadler. The colt is currently at Mayberry Farm in Ocala, Florida.
Curlin – America
Owners (West Point Thoroughbreds, Woodford Racing, Siena Farm, Bobby Flay)
The colt by Curlin out of the mare America is currently at Eddie Woods Training Center in Ocala, Florida. One of the partners of this colt is the chef Bobby Flay who bred the colt. A trainer will be named shortly.
Candy Ride – Endless Chatter
Owners (Woodford Racing)
The colt by Candy Ride out of the mare Endless Chatter is currently at Eisaman Training Center in Williston, Florida. The colt will be trained by Shug McGaughey. Shug trained Kentucky Derby Winner Orb and ran second in the Kentucky Derby in 2019 with Code of Honor.
Quality Road – Nefertiti
Owners (Woodford Racing)
The colt by Quality Road out of the mare Nefertiti is currently at Eisaman Training Center in Williston, Florida. The colt will be trained by Shug McGaughey and is a half brother (same mother, different father) to Engage. Engage is our 4 year old sprinter that ran in the $2,000,000 Breeders Cup Sprint in November at Santa Anita.
Lemon Drop Kid – Place of Honor
Owners (Woodford Racing)
The colt by Lemon Drop Kid out of the mare Place of Honor is currently at Eisaman Training Center in Williston, Florida. The colt will be trained by Shug McGaughey.

The colt by Lemon Drop Kid out of the mare Distorted Love is currently at Kinsman Farm in Ocala, Florida. The colt is a New York Bred who will be trained by Christophe Clement.
Speightster- Feline Flatline
Owners (Woodford Racing)
The colt by Speightster out of the mare Feline Flatline is currently at Eisaman Training center in Williston, Florida. The colt will be trained by Shug McGaughey.
3 Year Old’s
Owners (West Point Thoroughbreds, Chester Broman, Woodford Racing, Siena Farm)
Chestertown is currently in training at The Fairgrounds in New Orleans, Louisiana. He broke his maiden in early December at Aqueduct going a mile and will race next on January 17 going a mile and a sixteenth. Chestertown’s upcoming race will be a series of firsts. First time racing at The Fairgrounds, first time racing further than a mile, first time running around two turns and first time running against horses other than New York Breds.

Hopeisnotastrategy is currently on a farm in Western New York. He will go back into training shortly with the plan to run at Aqueduct in New York sometime before April.
Chasenbryn
Owners (Allread, Dorsman, Englehart)
Chasenbryn is currently in training at Belmont Park in New York and will run at Aqueduct in the next few months.
4 Year Old’s
Militiaman
Owners (Woodford Racing)
Militiaman is currently in training at Margaux Farm in Lexington, Kentucky. The plan is for him to return to Chad Brown when he completes his rehabbing.
The Sinner Is You
Owners (Hibiscus Stables, Dorsman)
The Sinner Is You is currently on a farm in Western New York. The Sinner Is You won his last two races and will return to the races when turf racing returns to Aqueduct in April.
Secret Alchemy
Owners (Allread, Dorsman)
Secret Alchemy is currently in training at Charlestown Racetrack in Charlestown, West Virginia with Aaron West and will run in late January. She won two of her last four races.
Game Winner
Owners (Gary and Mary West, Lanes End Farm, Woodford Racing)
Game Winner is currently at Los Alamitos Racetrack in Los Angeles, California and will go back into training shortly. He will continue to be trained by Bob Baffert and pointed at a series of Grade 1 races in 2020.
5 Year Old’s
Campaign
Owners (Woodford Racing)
The campaign is currently in training at Santa Anita Racetrack in Los Angeles, California with John Sadler. He will be pointed to a series of marathon stakes races throughout the United States on the dirt and grass in 2020.
Engage
Owners (Woodford Racing)
Engage is currently in training at The Fairgrounds in New Orleans, Louisiana with Steve Asmussen. His next race will be the $1,500,000 Riyadh Sprint in Saudi Arabia on February 29.
It should be a very exciting 2020 on the racetrack!
