Not a day goes by without an article, podcast, etc. featuring our (Hronis Brothers, Siena Farm, Summer Wind Equine, West Point Thoroughbreds, Woodford Racing) stable star Flightline. Early on, most of the stories were about his breathtaking performance in the Malibu Stakes and the ease with which he won. As time went on, the focus shifted to drawing comparisons to other successful horses or speculation regarding where and when he will run next. Regardless of the the storyline, the attention on Flightline has been very good for thoroughbred racing.

A podcast I really enjoyed listening to was Steve Byk’s, “At The Races” where Steve interviewed both John Sadler, Flightline’s Trainer and David Ingordo, the bloodstock agent who recommended the purchase of Flightline to our ownership group. The interview with John provides a behind the scene view of preparing Flightline for the Malibu Stakes as well as John’s opinion of the race. The interview with David focuses on what he saw in Flightline as a very young horse and why he recommended him for purchase.

Another interesting interview was with April Mayberry at Mayberry Farm. April and her husband broke Flightline when he was a yearling on their farm in Ocala, Florida. The Mayberry’s have taught hundreds of horses how to become racehorses so hearing her describe what she saw in Flightline many months before his first start was fascinating.
Two of the more interesting articles were about Flightline receiving an invitation to run in the $3 Million Pegasus World Cup Invitational at Gulfstream Park (Hallendale, Florida) on January 29 and Jon White’s “Dazzling” article.
More to come on when and where Flightline will run next or as I like to call it, “Must See TV”! In the meantime, feel free to vote for Flightline’s win in the Malibu Stakes as the NTRA Moment of the Year.
