Racing in Saratoga kicked off this weekend (151st Season) and it was evident everywhere you went in town! This year racing will be conducted five days a week over the next eight weeks (40 racing days) with Mondays and Tuesdays dark. While some people expressed concern about moving to a five day race week versus the previous six day, outstanding racing will trump any changes to the racing calendar.
With out of town guests visiting every weekend over the next eight weeks, we’re excited the season is underway. As you walk around the grounds at Saratoga Race Course, the horses are complimented by a host of experiences. Roving musicians, artists, food trucks, racing displays and New York State craft brewers and vintners all contribute to Saratoga Racing!

On the racing front we are anticipating six of our horses running during the Meet, with some starting twice. Week 1 starts with a bang as we send out:
⁃ Tiple (Wednesday, July 17)
⁃ The Sinner Is You (Wednesday, July 17)
⁃ Engage (Friday, July 19)
Over the 40 days of racing there will be 76 stakes races with total stakes purses of almost $21 million. As I walked into the track on Opening Day, an armored car was leaving so I’m confident the New York Racing Association (NYRA) is good for the money!
